Close to Home was one of New Zealand's earliest Television dramas, running for eight years from 1975 - 1983. The show originally focused on the Hearte family, but eventually came to focus on their friends and neighbours as well. A highpoint in the series came in 1982 with Gavin and Gayle's wedding.
